What Causes Dilated Pores?
Skin pores can become dilated over time and form one particular type of dilated pore, called the dilated pore of Winer. These skin lesions are benign, but some patients have them treated for cosmetic reasons, particularly when they occur on the face or on cosmetically sensitive areas.
There are multiple treatment options for dilated pores, including:
- Topical medical treatment with a retinoid
- Punch grafting
- Surgical excision of individual lesions.
Widespread areas of skin with dilated pores can be improved by using a variety of cosmetic treatments, including:
- Fractionated Co2 laser
- Chemical peeling techniques
