What Are Hair Disorders?
There are a large number of hair disorders; some are genetically inherited and some are acquired, some involve abnormalities of hair shaft growth (too much or too little) and some involve hair shaft composition as well as several hair disorders that are the result of infection or systemic diseases.

Some of the most common hair disorders include:
- Hair loss(alopecia)
- Hair growth, including hypertrichosis and hirsutism
- Hair shaft abnormalities – hair brittleness, breakage, colour change
- Hair disorders or scalp conditions caused by systemic diseases, such as, psoriasis, lichen planus, lupus erythematosus, contact dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis.
