Give Yourself a Timeline
Planning for a wedding requires a lot of organization and preparation, and your skin health should be part of it! Skin responds best to treatments when given time to heal, regenerate and build collagen.
Building a structured timeline allows us to personalize treatments gradually and safely, layer treatments for optimal results, and avoid unnecessary stress close to the wedding date!
Whether you are the bride, groom or part of the wedding party, starting early allows for the most refined outcome.
12 Months Before the Wedding
This is the ideal time to establish a professional skin care foundation, and allows enough time for individualized treatment.
Focus areas may include:
- Comprehensive skin consultation
- Introduction of a medical grade skin care routine
- Addressing acne, pigmentation or texture concerns
- Beginning treatments that require multiple sessions
Recommended treatments may include medical facials, acne management programs and laser treatments for tone and texture. This phase is about understanding your skin and creating a personalized treatment plan.
6 to 9 Months Before the Wedding
At this stage, we begin targeting specific goals to enhance overall skin quality and start correcting some of the more specific focus areas.
Common treatments include:
- Laser treatments for pigmentation or redness
- Microneedling for texture and collagen stimulation
- Injectables such as neuromodulators for fine lines when appropriate
These treatments allow enough time for the skin to heal. It also allows your skin to settle and to respond naturally to the treatment.
3 to 6 Months Before the Wedding
This phase focuses on refinement and balance. This is where we fine-tune the treatments, making sure that all skin concerns are being addressed with enough time before the big day.
Treatments may include:
- Maintenance injectables for smooth, relaxed expression
- Advanced facials to support hydration and glow
- Body treatments for areas such as the neck, chest or hands
Skin should look healthy and consistent, with treatments fine tuned to your progress.
1 to 3 Months Before the Wedding
As the big day approaches, we shift our treatment toward gentle enhancement, and spot correcting wherever necessary.
Recommended focus areas:
- Hydration and barrier support
- Light resurfacing treatments if appropriate
- Avoiding aggressive procedures
This is also when final touch ups are planned to ensure skin looks rested and luminous.
The Final Weeks
In the final weeks, less is more. The goal is to have your skin calm, soothed, and glowing.
Best practices include:
- Gentle medical facials
- Maintaining hydrating treatments
- Strict sun protection
- Avoiding new products or procedures
While the possibilities are endless with products & treatments, the weeks leading into the wedding is not the time to tinker with your routine or to introduce new products. The end goal is to be calm and glowing.
Wedding Week Skin Care Tips
Make sure you stay glowing by continuing your routine throughout your wedding week! Consistency is important, and key to ensuring your skin stays calm leading up to the big day.
This means:
- Keep skin care simple and consistent
- Stay hydrated and prioritize sleep
- Avoid last minute treatments or product changes
- Trust the plan you have built
